#50 Stainless Steel Sprockets | ANSI No.50 SS 5/8″ Pitch

ANSI No.50 stainless steel sprockets (5/8″ pitch), Type A and Type B, 304 SS. Factory-direct substitute for Tsubaki RS50SS, Martin 50SS, and Browning/Rexnord #50SS. Custom bore available. Hangzhou Ever-Power.

Description

Product Overview

#50 Stainless Steel Sprockets are engineered for ANSI No.50 roller chain at 5/8-inch pitch — a chain size that bridges the gap between light-duty conveyor drives and genuinely heavy power transmission in a single, versatile standard. At this pitch, the combination of stainless steel construction and ANSI-standard tooth form covers the most demanding hygiene-critical conveying and packaging applications, from high-speed bottling-line drives to slow-running bulk-product conveyors where loads and corrosion risk both run high.

Our #50 SS range offers two hub styles. Type B sprockets carry a machined hub (boss) with provision for a keyway or set-screw, making them the standard choice for driven-shaft mounting in most industrial applications. Type A (disc-type) sprockets have a flat plate profile with minimal hub projection, used primarily for idler duty, space-constrained applications, or as drive elements where the shaft engagement is provided by a separately mounted hub or bushing. Both types cover an extensive tooth-count range and directly replace Tsubaki RS50SS, Martin 50SS, Browning 50SS, and Rexnord equivalent stainless sprockets at factory-direct pricing.

Produced in 304-grade stainless steel at our Hangzhou CNC facility, the complete #50 SS range is dimensioned to ANSI B29.1. Custom bore, keyway, and taper-lock configurations are available with 7–12 working day lead times, allowing procurement teams to source finished-bore parts without paying the finishing premiums that European or North American distributors add to the base price of imported stainless components.

Manufacturing Quality & Process Controls

The #50 chain pitch (5/8 inch) sits at a size where manufacturing tolerance becomes especially important: the 0.400-inch roller is large enough that small errors in the seating-curve radius produce visible roller-bounce during engagement, detectable as vibration and measurable noise. Our CNC hobbing programme for #50 sprockets maintains seating curve accuracy within the ANSI B29.1 tolerance band, verified by optical comparator on the first article of each batch and by statistical sampling thereafter.

Bore machining on Type B sprockets is performed to H7 or standard imperial fit dimensions on CNC turning centres. The hub bore is the most dimensionally critical feature of a finished-bore sprocket — an oversize bore allows the sprocket to wobble on the shaft, producing cyclic runout that accelerates chain wear and can cause premature sprocket failure. Our bore machining process holds standard tolerance on every production run, with gauging records retained for traceability.

Frequently Asked Questions

1. What is the difference between Type A and Type B #50 SS sprockets?+
Type B (hubbed) sprockets have a projecting boss on one or both sides that provides additional shaft-engagement length and space for a keyway or set-screw. Type A (disc-type) sprockets are flat or near-flat with minimal hub projection, used primarily for idler applications or where a separate hub provides the shaft engagement.
2. Can Type B #50 SS sprockets be supplied with taper-lock bore?+
Yes. We can bore Type B hubs to accept standard QD/taper-lock bushings (SH, SK, SF, E, F, J, and larger series). Specify the bushing designation and check that the hub diameter accommodates your chosen bushing outside diameter before ordering.
3. Are the #50 SS sprocket dimensions compatible with British No.10B chain?+
No.50 (ANSI) and No.10B (BS/DIN) share the same 5/8-inch pitch but have different roller diameters and inner widths: No.50 uses a 0.400″ roller; No.10B uses a 0.306″ (7.77 mm) roller. The sprocket tooth profiles are therefore different. Do not mix ANSI #50 sprockets with BS 10B chain.
4. Do you carry #50-2 (duplex) stainless sprockets?+
Yes. Double-strand #50-2 SS sprockets are available for both Type A and Type B in common tooth counts. Specify “duplex” or “#50-2” when requesting a quote.
5. What is the maximum bore for a 60T #50B SS sprocket?+
The 60T 50B SS sprocket (Part No. 50B60SS) has a maximum bore of 2-1/2″ and a hub diameter of 3-3/4″. If your shaft diameter exceeds this, contact us — an extended hub or custom hub OD can often be machined to accommodate larger shaft sizes.
