#80 Stainless Steel Sprockets are the largest-pitch standard stainless sprocket in the ANSI chain family — built for No.80 roller chain at 1-inch pitch, with a 0.625-inch roller and 5/8-inch inner width that define a component operating in the heavy-duty industrial tier of power transmission. At this scale, sprocket tooth counts from 10T through 40T produce outside diameters from 3.68 inches on the smallest to 13.31 inches on the largest, and part weights from 2.14 pounds to 26 pounds — numbers that reflect the structural significance of these components in the drives they serve.

Manufacturing Precision at Large Scale
Heavy-pitch sprockets at the #80 scale amplify the consequences of dimensional error. A runout error of 0.010 inch in bore concentricity on a 1-inch pitch sprocket produces a chain-tension variation with every revolution that would be negligible on a 3/8-inch pitch sprocket but is significant on a No.80 drive transmitting several kilowatts. Our production process for #80 SS sprockets addresses this through a combination of controlled fixturing during hobbing, bore finishing in a separate CNC turning operation after hobbing (ensuring the bore is concentric with the pitch circle, not just with the blank OD), and runout measurement on completed parts before release.
For large tooth counts (25T and above), we perform 100% visual inspection of tooth form and surface finish before packing. Parts are individually banded to wooden pallets for export to prevent the flatness distortion that can occur when heavy sprockets are stacked in cartons during long sea-freight transits. Material certificates and dimensional records are retained for five years from the shipment date, supporting the traceability requirements of regulated-industry buyers in food, pharmaceutical, and defence sectors.
C45 carbon steel variants with high-frequency induction hardening are available for applications where tooth-surface hardness (40–50 HRC on flanks, tough ductile core) is more critical than corrosion resistance. Agricultural combine main drives, mining conveyor head-shaft sprockets, and heavy-timber-deck machinery are the primary C45 HF-quench applications in the #80 range. Hardness test certificates are available on request for C45 HF-quenched parts.
