#35 Stainless Steel Sprockets are designed for ANSI No.35 roller chain at 3/8-inch pitch — a chain size that sits at the mid-point between the lightest and most common ANSI pitches and is widely used in agricultural seeding and tillage equipment, light industrial conveyors, vending-machine drives, and food-equipment chain drives across North American and export markets. Our #35 SS sprocket range covers 10 through 60 teeth, providing full coverage of the speed-ratio range from high-speed light drives to slow, high-torque applications at the larger tooth counts.
Manufactured in 304-grade stainless steel at our Hangzhou facility, these sprockets are dimensioned to ANSI B29.1 and directly replace equivalent parts from Tsubaki, Martin Sprocket, Browning (Regal Rexnord), and Rexnord without modification. Material Quality, Surface Treatment & Process Controls
304-grade stainless bar stock is the standard material for the #35 SS range. Each production batch is accompanied by a mill certificate confirming the chromium (18–20%), nickel (8–10.5%), and carbon content that define the 304 specification. The tooth form is CNC-hobbed to ANSI B29.1 tolerances — a critical process parameter for No.35 chain, whose 3/8-inch pitch and small roller diameter require tighter hobbing accuracy than larger-pitch sprockets to avoid resonance and noise at typical chain speeds of 200–600 RPM.
For C45 carbon steel variants available on request, high-frequency induction hardening brings tooth-face hardness to 40–50 HRC, extending wear life in agricultural drives where abrasive grit accelerates tooth erosion. The vast majority of food and pharmaceutical buyers, however, specify 304 stainless for its combination of corrosion resistance, low maintenance, and regulatory compliance with food-contact surface requirements in the EU (EC 1935/2004) and the United States (FDA 21 CFR).
Passivation per ASTM A967 is performed after all machining operations on stainless parts. This treatment removes surface iron contamination from tool contact and restores the passive film that is the source of stainless steel’s corrosion resistance — a step that is frequently omitted by lower-quality suppliers and whose absence leads to premature surface rust even on 304 stainless components.
